Belinda King Scholl
Accompanist/Pianist
Belinda King Scholl was born and educated through high school in Killeen, Texas. Ms. Scholl holds four academic degrees: an A.A. in General Education/Music from Central Texas College (Killeen, TX); a B.M. in Piano Performance from Southwestern University (Georgetown, TX); an M.M. in Piano Pedagogy from Texas Christian University (Fort Worth, TX); and an M.L.S. in Library and Information Sciences from the University of North Texas (Denton, TX).
She began formal piano lessons at the age of nine. By age twelve, she was serving as accompanist for her home church and the Children’s and Youth Choirs. She has served numerous churches as Organist/Pianist, Vocal Coach, and Interim Music Director. She has also maintained a private piano studio from her home since 1975. Ms. Scholl is frequently invited to serve as an adjudicator for piano contests, festivals, the National Guild of Piano Students, and other piano events in the North Central Texas area. She is a member of the American College of Musicians and the National Guild of Piano Teachers. At the conclusion of her graduate studies at TCU, Ms. Scholl was inducted into Pi Kappa Lambda, a national music honor society, and its local chapter of Gamma Epsilon at Texas Christian University.
In addition to her music career, Ms. Scholl has worked in the field of librarianship for 25 years, serving PK to high school aged students at Southwest Chistian School (Fort Worth, TX) and Everman ISD. While she is retired from being a professional librarian, she enjoys curating her Little Free Library that her husband built, and that sits in front of their home. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading, traveling, gardening, cooking, cultural events, listening to music, studying and practicing piano music, and spending quality time with family and friends. Ms. Scholl resides in Southwest Fort Worth with her husband, Teddy Ashcraft, and their beloved puppers: Chihuahua/Corgi mix, Cesar; and Jack, their six-pound Chihuahua, both the light of their lives.
